After almost an entire career in the energy and engineering industries, where she held
principal roles in Project Controls and Business Development with leading organizations
including Westinghouse Electric Company, Bechtel Corporation, Stone & Webster, and
TC Energy, Katherine chose to dedicate her time and passion to pursuits close to her
heart – art, culture, and history.
Since 2017, Katherine has been a volunteer and friend of the Chao Center for Asian
Studies at Rice University, contributing her expertise through advisory support for oral
history interviews and serving as a liaison with interview participants for the Houston
Asian American Archive. In addition, she has provided recommendations and facilitated
connections with distinguished scholars and speakers for the Liu Distinguished Visitor
Series.
Her passion for art, lifelong learning, and education is further reflected in her work as a
volunteer museum educator affiliated with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Bayou
Bend Collection and Gardens in Houston; the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh;
and the Ackland Art Museum in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In these roles, she leads
tours in English, Mandarin, and French, and presents lectures on selected topics and
special exhibitions.
She graduated with a bachelor degree in French from Fu Jen Catholic University in
Taiwan prior to receiving a M.A. in Mass Communications from Texas Tech University
and attending the University of Houston.
