Born on September 1st, 1994 in the city of Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, Dr. Lê Quốc Khánh holds a PhD in Mathematics. He came to Houston, Texas, for a postdoc position at Rice. Dr. Le’s academic interest lies in low-dimensional topology, hyperbolic geometry, and left orderability. He and his wife reside in the Montrose neighborhood. Dr. Lê has two older sisters in the USA, and the rest of his family lives in Vietnam. This interview covers Dr. Lê’s experiences growing up, childhood memories in Vietnam, immigration experiences to the USA, and the experiences he had upon returning to his home city after 7 years. It also covers his relationship with his Vietnamese and American identities, his academic experiences, and his experiences in Houston.
