BIO

Ed Gor is the immediate past National President of Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A.), which was established in 1895, and is the oldest Asian American civil rights organization in the United States, addressing issues regarding voter education and participation, racial profiling and discrimination, youth leadership training and equal employment opportunities for all Chinese Americans. He has integrated a career as a Project Engineer and Program Manager on successful chemical and refinery engineering projects at Jacobs Engineering Group while also volunteering on boards at critical needs non-profit organizations. He has led oversight responsibilities in evaluating financial management reports of non-profit agencies, evaluated and awarded services contracts for public and private sector funds, and performed audit and monitoring duties on successful proposers.

In this interview, Ed Gor describes in detail his past and ongoing efforts to recognize the forgotten service of Chinese American World War II Veterans with the Congressional Gold Medal via the passage of Senate and House Bills, S.1050 and H.R. 2358, respectively. Ed Gor also discusses his underlying motivations behind initiating the project, as well as his future prospect on getting the stories of the veterans heard and recognized across the country.
