Interview - Saleena Jafry

Saleena Jafry was born in Chicago, Illinois and spent most of her childhood and teenage years in Pakistan. When she was 21 years old, she moved to Houston, Texas. She worked at a private energy company in Houston as part of the management team for 18 years before she joined Asia Society as a Director of Business and Policy in 2016. She received a Master’s degree in Liberal Studies from Rice University and an MBA from Washington University. She is an active volunteer with the Ismaili community where she served as a volunteer liaison between the community and a broad spectrum of civic, cultural, and governmental organizations across Texas . She also served at the Sugar Land's multicultural advisory board from 2009 to 2016. Besides her work and volunteering, Jafry likes watching Bollywood films, reading, and traveling.
