Cheng-Ti Judy Dai was born in Tainan, Taiwan, in 1954, after her parents moved there from Mainland China. Her father found a job in the United States and moved their family to America in pursuit of better education for Dai and her older brother. She describes the experiences she had as she progressed through her medical career, as well as the differences she has noticed in demographics and culture in the medical and Asian American community in Houston.
