BIO

Andrew Harry Gee was born in Houston, TX in 1975. He attended Rice University and the University of Houston Law Center and currently works as an immigration attorney as part of Gee & Zhang. Andrew’s family, the Gee family, has played a pivotal role in creating networks between Chinese immigrants in Houston through the Gee Family Association since the early 1900s and continues to serve as one of the most influential Asian family organizations in Houston. Andrew carries this Gee legacy through his consistent leadership in the Gee Family Association and the greater Asian Houston community. Currently, Andrew lives with his wife Janella and their three kids, Isabella, and twins Andrew and Juliana. This interview covers the early and professional life of Andrew and how his identity of being a member of the Gee clan influenced his upbringing. Additionally, this interview also covers how Andrew developed his interests in immigration law, his previous experience of engaging with the greater Asian Houston community though the Rodeo and the Dragon Boat Festival, and how he balanced between his German and Chinese heritage.
